The film side of the OIAF is made up of the Official Competition, three out-of-Competition Panorama programmes, and curated Special Screenings and Retrospectives.
The main event of the OIAF, the Official Competition features both short and feature-length animated works selected from over 2000 entries from 80+ different countries. These works compete for awards given out by an international six-person jury.
The three Panorama programmes feature new and notable animated shorts from around the world, selected from among the 2021 submissions.
