Toon Apprentice Lecture Series Underway! (Posted April 21st, 2010)
The Ottawa's Animation Festival makes it a
priority to present free in-class
lectures to students in local area high schools, to tell them about the
history of animation and educate them on the styles, uses of, and industry behind
the art form. Starting now and being offered until the end of the school year, this one-hour
presentation, led by Festival staff, uses engaging contemporary examples of
animation to connect with teen audiences, encourage dialogue and spark
creativity. We aim to challenge
preconceived ideas about animation - it's so much more than Saturday morning cartoons!
