Throughout the year the OIAF and its parent organization the Canadian Film Institute are always looking for enthusiastic persons who
want to learn about all aspects of organizing a film Festival. 


Currently seeking:



Festival Designer (Student Position) -   We are currently seeking applicants!

Kickstart your design career and build your portfolio as the OIAF's summer student designer.  You must have been registered as a full-time student in the spring semester and you must be intending to return to school as a full-time student in the fall

Start date:  June 5
End date:  August 25
Pay:  $13/hour

You'll be laying out the Festival Program book and other publications, ads and marketing material.   You will also be creating material for
the web and working on Festival merchandise.

Skills and Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of Adobe products such as Indesign and Photoshop.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong written English skills are essential.
Team player and goal oriented.
Knowledge of French is a plus.

Special Event Assistants (via the Job Creation Program) -   We are currently seeking applicants to work on Media / Guest Services / Volunteers / Box office / The Animation Conference!

This position is a work experience opportunity through the Job Creation program.  You must currently be in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) payments or have received EI payments within the last 3 years (reach back status) and live in the Ottawa area.

Job SummaryJoin our team and get some quality experience working on media and marketing for the Ottawa International Animation Festival and other events.

Duration: 26 weeks

  
Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Knowlege of the Adobe Suite is a plus
  • Spoken French would be great.
  • Good organizational skills / able to work in a busy environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are a MUST
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office, database and Internet programs
  • Experience working with Audio/visual equipment could be useful
Eligibility Criteria:
You must currently be in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) payments or have received EI payments within the last 3 years (Reach back status);
Live in the Ottawa area;
You must not leave employment to participate in JCP;
You must not be a current full-time student;
You must have your Employment Insurance status verified;
You may only participate in the JCP once in a 2 year period. (Applicants that do not clearly indicate their ability to meet these criteria in the cover letter will not be considered.)

Salary: You will be paid via the EI program (apr. $423) per week.
