The OJCP Job Creation Partnerships program  is an employment program offered in partnership by Ottawa Festival Network (OFN) and the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities (MTCU) to provide work experience to unemployed job seekers (Employment Ontario).  The OJCP program provides opportunities to work on projects that benefit the community or local economy while providing participants opportunities to acquire new skills and/or keep existing skills current, to expand a network of contacts, and to maintain an active resume.Welcome to EditPad.org - your online plain text editor. Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Knowlege of the Adobe Suite is a plus
  • Spoken French would be great.
  • Good organizational skills / able to work in a busy environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are a MUST
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office, database and Internet programs
  • Experience working with Audio/visual equipment could be useful
Prior to an interview with OFN, OJCP candidate eligibility is determined according to at least one of the following criteria:

>An unemployed person living in Ontario who has paid Employment Insurance (EI) premiums (through payroll deductions) in at least 5 of the last 10 years, or
>An unemployed person living in Ontario who established an Employment Insurance (EI) regular benefit claim within the last 3 years, or
>An unemployed person living in Ontario who established an Employment Insurance (EI) maternity or parental benefit claim within the last five years and are re-entering the labour force
NOTE: There are some exceptions to the above criteria including the ineligibility of full time students and those who received a refund for the EI premiums paid through payroll deductions

Program participants are offered positions of 30 hours per week (4 days per week) and are provided a payment of $423 per week ($14.10 per hour) by the Province of Ontario.

Graphic Designer Position (via Canada Summer Jobs)

The Ottawa International Animation Festival is looking for young person interested in being our design intern until the end of August. It is a paying position - but more importantly you will have an amazing, diverse portfolio by the time you are done. You must be under 30 to apply.

Responsibilities:
* Work with the team to establish the overall look and graphic elements of publications
* Estimate the time to complete the designs and create a long-term plan to meet deadlines
* Select photos and illustrations
* Perform the layout, page make-up and placement
* Help to create merchandise designs
* Work on signage, ads and other material

>  be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,

>  have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations


Skills and Abilities

* An advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite

* Some knowledge of web design is a plus

* Strong communication skills in English - French is a plus (written and oral)
* time-management skills and the ability multi-task
