While you are here, why not rent a car to visit the incredible le Nordik Spa, set up some meetings in Montreal or do some hiking in the spectacular Gatineau Park?  Be sure to use Budget, the official car rental supplier of the Festival. They have a handy kiosk at the Ottawa airport.  

Flying into Toronto? Don’t forget that it’s a 5 ½ hour drive to Ottawa. Flying into Montreal? It’s a 2 ½ hour drive to Ottawa. For those traveling overseas via Montreal’s Pierre Trudeau Airport (formerly Dorval), transportation to Ottawa should be arranged in advance.

Once Your Flight Lands in Ottawa
The Ottawa city bus system, OC TRANSPO, also offers frequent service with the 97 bus that travels from the Airport to downtown. The transit takes about 45 minutes depending upon your specific destination. The fare is $3.50 CDN and exact change is required on the buses.

A taxi ride from the airport to downtown Ottawa takes about 20 minutes and is approximately $40.00 CDN.

There are two different app based car services in Ottawa: Uber and Lyft.  Please be aware that there are special pick up instructions within the apps for drives originating from the airport.  

DON'T FORGET!: If you are flying into Canada from the EU you will need an ETA (Electronic Travel Visa) This costs $7 CAD and can be bought online on the Govenrnment of Canada website .

Once you get here, the train station is 15 minutes from the centre of the city.  You can take the 61 or 62 bus on OC Transpo for $3.50 CDN (exact fare necessary) to get downtown, or take a cab that will cost roughly $20.00 CDN.

Fare is $3.50 CDN (exact change required on buses) or you can buy two tickets at any of their Sales and Information Centres or at one of hundreds of retail outlets throughout the city. For those wishing to take a bus across the Ottawa River to Gatineau, one must take an STO bus (STO buses are blue rather than the red used by OC Transpo).
