Bing, bang, boom ! Learn how to create sound
effects for cartoons in this interactive foley
work-shop presented by Ottawa’s own Affinity  
Production  Group.  Kids will be able to record
the every-day sound eff ects that enrich their
favourite cartoons, like skittering footsteps,
creaking doors and a rolling avalanche of marbles.

Kids Jury
The Ottawa International Animation Festival is inviting local kids to enter its annual Kids Jury contest. Ten animation enthusiasts, ranging from the ages of 8 to 12 years old, will be chosen to judge this year's competition of film and television made for young audiences.

To be chosen for the jury, local kids are invited to write one paragraph about their favourite animated film. Ten lucky winners and their families will be whisked away to the Festival on Saturday, September 23, 2017 to watch either the Animation for Young Audiences – Preschool Competition at 9:30 a.m. or the Animation for Young Audiences – Ages 6-12 Competition at 11 a.m. They will pick their favourite film or TV episode and award prizes on stage to the winning filmmakers later that evening, at 7:30 p.m.

Contest deadline is 4:00 pm on September 8. Entrants MUST include their name, age and an e-mail address or phone number where they can be reached.
