At the OIAF

If you enjoy anime, cartoons and comics - you will really like the OIAF. There are a ton of interesting screenings and talks and professional development with the people behind the scenes.

Come and check the Festival out on Saturday for free with a Toon Apprentice Pass. You can also buy an animation six pack which gets you five screenings for the price of six or just buy a ticket online or at the door - just like you are going to the local movie theatre!  You can also volunteer - this way you can get a pass AND burn through some of those volunteer hours you have to do for school.

If you are looking to study animation - you have to go to the Animation Career Fair.

Toon Apprentice Pass
High School students get a FREE pass for all day Saturday!

Regular Festival Programming is free for teens all day on September 23 until 6pm! It also gives teens access to marquee events, talks and screenings. Register for a pass online (log into the OIAF website and order off the user menu) or bring your high school ID and pick-up your pass on the 23th at Saint Brigid's Centre for the Arts (310 St Patrick St. - in the Kildare Room).

Animation Career Fair
Saturday, September 23th, 2017, 9:00am,  Saint Brigid's Centre for the Arts (Kildare Room)

If you are looking for an animation school don't miss the Animation Career Fair  taking place from 9am - 5pm at Saint Brigid's Centre for the Arts. Head downstairs to the Kildare Room and meet with the schools at their booths.

Volunteer with us!
Students and teens can get more involved with the festival by volunteering. Completing volunteer hours can finish up a school credit, and provide valuable professional experience. Plus, volunteers who work two full shifts for the OIAF get free access to screenings and workshops at this year's Festival. Spaces are limited, so sign up soon.

This OIAF is once again offering the unique opportunity to high school students to volunteer their school's representative for the 2016 Ottawa International Animation Festival. As our Animation Ambassador, they will help to get other students in their school involved in volunteering and help build the excitement leading up to the event by helping us promote it at their high school. The Animation Ambassador will receive a free pass to all OIAF events.

Volunteer positions are available throughout the summer, as well as on-site in September. Anyone interested can contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.
