Volunteering
Students and teens can get more involved with the festival by volunteering. Completing volunteer hours can finish up a school credit, and provide valuable professional experience. Plus, volunteers who work two full shifts for the OIAF get free access to screenings and workshops at this year's Festival. Spaces are limited, so sign up soon.

The OIAF is once again offering the unique opportunity to high school students to volunteer their school's representative for the 2019 Ottawa International Animation Festival. As our Animation Ambassador, they will help to get other students in their school involved in volunteering and help build the excitement leading up to the event by helping us promote it at their high school. The Animation Ambassador will receive a free pass to all OIAF events.

Volunteer positions are available throughout the summer, as well as on-site in September.

By the end of the workshop, students will know how to use the Oculus CV1 VR platform and the Leap Motion sensor to build simple interactive VR experiences using Unity.

The instructor will thoroughly explain the steps necessary in creating a VR application in Unity and adding different interactive components to the project. Students will then have the chance to test their newly acquired knowledge by building a small VR application with the help of the instructor and try the VR software they made. Workshop sessions last about 30 minutes each. Students will be divided up into groups of 5, with each group using one of the three available stations for VR development.
