Professional Development Day and The Animation Career Fair
Each year the Festival hosts a day of presentations from the industry bigwigs aimed at students, young animators and fans looking to unwrap the mysteries of the major animation studios. Professional Development Day was created to provide an opportunity to festival goers who want to gain access and insights into what can at first seem like an intimidating area of the animation world. Returning to Saint Brigid's Centre for the Arts, the packed day features a variety of panels, master classes, info sessions, in-depth interviews and Q&As. Past presentations have featured animation experts from Pixar, Cartoon Network, Disney and Nickelodeon. These experts share an enthusiastic and personalized account of the life of an industry professional, along with thoughts on their creative process. They provide valuable insight on the ins and outs of working in the industry, and information on how to help you reach your career goals. Take this advice on selling your skills for a career in animation downstairs to the Kildare Room for the Animation Career Fair (more on that below!)
With a range of speakers, including producers and directors, showcasing their work, at Professional Development Day you will also get an exclusive, behind the scenes look at some of the best from the major studios. Learn about how your favourite tv series and films were made, get a preview on upcoming work and see how an idea evolves through each stage of production. Stay tuned here for exciting 2017 line-up announcements!
