Ottawa Audiences Get Second Chance to see Animation Festival Favourites   (Posted February 5th, 2010)

Every fall, the Canadian Film Institute organizes the Ottawa International Animation Festival.  This world-renowned event is one of the largest film festivals of its kind.    If you missed this October’s packed out edition, make sure you are there for the BEST OF screening on Saturday, February 20, at 7pm in the Library and Archives of Canada auditorium.

The Best of the Ottawa Animation Festival program showcases many of the outstanding films presented in the Official Competition. The 2009 program includes such exceptional films as:  OIAF Nelvana Grand Prize winner Inherent Obligations from Estonian filmmaker Rao Heidmets;  the HIT Entertainment Best Student film winner, Chick by Michal Socha;  David O’Reilly’s award-winning sci-fi drama Please Say Something; and the crowd-favourite travelogue Madagascar, A Journey Diary, by Bastien Dubois.

Some of the films presented, such as Mak the Horny Mac Daddy by Ian Millar, are not suitable for children.  The programme is recommended for those over the age of 16.

Tickets are $6 for members and $10 for non-members and are available 30min before showtime.  There is free parking available.

2010 Dates Announced!  (Posted January 20th, 2010)

We are very excited to announce our dates for Ottawa 2010.  The Festival will run October 20 - 24 and TAC will be held at the Chateau Laurier from October 20 - 21.  Keep checking the site for updates.
