The Official Competition section of the Ottawa 08 International Animation Festival consists of works chosen by the Festival’s selection committee from a field of 2150 submissions.

The Kids Competition categories are judged by a local kids jury, and are always popular with audiences, young and old. This year's selections include The Bunjies by Andreas Hykade and Ged Haney, the hilariously fun The Upstate Four, and more Yo Gabba Gabba! clips than you can shake a stick at.
