The Official Competition section of the Ottawa 08 International Animation Festival consists of works chosen by the Festival’s selection committee from a field of 2150 submissions.

The Kids Competition categories are judged by a local kids jury, and are always popular with audiences, young and old. This year's selections include the lough-out-loud, award-winning KJFG No. 5, the charming story of The Swimming Lesson, and Great Ambition by Canada's own Malcolm Sutherland.
