ACCOMMODATIONS

The following hotels, hostels, and bed & breakfasts are extending a special rate and have a number of rooms set aside for OIAF 05 participants.

The rates quoted are subject to change. The prices do not include a 5% Ontario room tax and a 7% federal goods and services tax. Be sure to mention you are with the Ottawa International Animation Festival in order to receive any special rates. Please note that the period of the festival is an extremely busy time in Ottawa, and all hotels will stop holding rooms approximately one month prior to the festival's opening day. The toll-free numbers may not be valid outside of North America.

 
TRAVEL

Air

Air Canada (the Official Airline) and Far Horizons travel are offering Festival attendees a special convention rate on flights. Call Air Canada at 1-800-361-7585 and quote convention number 050098 for a 5% to 15% discount. The discount does not work on web fares unless you go through Far Horizons at (613) 234-6116 or by email at evan@farhorizons.ca

Not only are you saving on your ticket but you will be helping the Festival save on our airline bill.

Flying into Toronto? Don’t forget that it’s a 5 ½ hour drive to Ottawa. Flying into Montreal? It’s a 2 ½ hour drive to Ottawa.

You can reach the downtown area by taking the airport shuttle bus (approx. $12 CAN) or a taxi (approx. $25 CAN). Ottawa city bus system OC TRANSPO also offers excellent service that goes right downtown for $2.60 CAN. The shuttle bus takes about 45 minutes depending upon which hotel is your destination. The taxi ride from the airport to downtown Ottawa takes about 20 minutes.

For those traveling overseas via Montreal’s Pierre Trudeau Airport (formerly Dorval), transportation to Ottawa should be arranged in advance.

Train
There is a train station minutes from the centre of the city that connects Ottawa to other cities in Canada and the United States. From the VIA RAIL TRAIN STATION you can take the 95 bus on OC TRANSPO to get downtown for $2.60 CAN or take a cab that will cost roughly $15 CAN.
 
Bus

VOYAGEUR/GREYHOUND will comfortably bring you to Ottawa from anywhere in North America.

Need to get around Ottawa affordably, why not take OC TRANSPO. Visit their website for schedules or call them at (613) 741-4390. Fare is $2.60 CAN or you can purchase bus tickets at various kiosks across town that will save you money. For those wishing to take a bus across the Ottawa River to Hull one must take a STO Hull designated bus (STO busses are blue rather than red used by OC Transpo). Driving
The road access into the city is excellent with routes that will provide either express or scenic routes, as time and interest dictate.
